The Ainslie Football and Social Club (AFSC) will have its Centenary year in 2027. As the longest established football Club in the ACT, our goal is to grow and support Australian Rules Football for generations to come. To enable this vision the Club have developed a strategic plan.
Within this plan AFSC engaged Urban Designers and Landscape Architects at SPACELAB to design a Masterplan of the “Alan Ray Oval” with the following brief:
SPACELAB have designed a masterplan that achieves all of these aspirations. To proceed with this Masterplan, AFSC intend to lodge a Territory Plan Variation across the areas of site generally north of the oval. This masterplan enshrines and protects the privately owned oval as its key centrepiece. The oval will not be developed – it will be retained and improved for public benefit.
The next step in the process of this masterplan is the development of a childcare centre, which will enable AFSC to provide a much-needed service to the local community. The current zoning allows childcare to be developed on the site, so the development application for the childcare centre will be assessed independently of the TPV.
We welcome you to attend our community consultation sessions on the dates noted below, to view plans of the proposed childcare centre, or to discuss queries with the Urban planners, Landscape Architects and Project Planners who will be working with AFSC to develop the childcare centre and the wider masterplan.
Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, consultation will be held in 30-minute online video sessions (Microsoft Teams or Zoom).
The 30-minute Microsoft Teams or Zoom sessions will be held on following times and dates:
If you would like to attend one of these consultation meetings, please provide your contact details to Jackson@spacelab.net.au to organise your attendance at a suitable session time.
We will be running consultation sessions for the TPV from 15th September onwards until we submit the TPV the ACT Planning Authority in mid October.
